The Apple Watch SE is designed to offer the core Apple Watch experience at a lower price, the SE 3 is rumored to receive its biggest refresh yet, with a new design inspired by the premium Series models. Reports suggest that it may adopt slimmer bezels and larger display sizes of 41 mm and 45 mm, delivering more screen space for apps, workouts and notifications. Apple is also considering a plastic or aluminum case option to help keep costs low, while still retaining a sleek and modern look.
Performance-wise, the SE 3 is expected to benefit from the same S11 processor as the Series 11, ensuring smooth performance, faster app launches and improved energy efficiency compared to its predecessor. This would make it one of the most capable affordable smartwatches on the market, with the potential to handle Apple’s latest AI-powered features. Health tracking remains central to the SE line, with features like heart rate monitoring, fall detection, crash detection and activity tracking all included.
While premium sensors such as blood oxygen and blood pressure monitoring may remain exclusive to higher-end models, there are rumors of ECG support and smarter AI-driven health insights coming to the SE 3, bridging the gap between affordability and advanced wellness features.
The SE 3 will run watchOS 12 (sometimes referred to as watchOS 26), bringing a refreshed “liquid glass” interface inspired by Apple Vision Pro and enhanced personalization options. It will also integrate select Apple Intelligence tools, such as Workout Buddy and improved notifications, giving users a taste of Apple’s AI ecosystem without the premium price tag. Battery life is expected to remain strong, lasting up to a full day or more with optimized power management from the new chip.
With pricing expected in the range of $199–249, the Apple Watch SE 3 will continue to be Apple’s most accessible smartwatch, combining modern design, improved performance and reliable health and fitness features. For those who want the Apple Watch experience without the higher price of the Series 11 or Ultra 3, the SE 3 is shaping up to be the best-value option in Apple’s 2025 wearable lineup.
