Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide 5G Price in Kenya, Specifications & Features

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide 5G is Samsung's 2026 wide-format foldable flagship, officially named the Galaxy Z Fold8. Rather than following the tall and narrow proportions of earlier Fold generations, Samsung redesigned the device around content consumption and everyday usability.

When closed, the 5.5-inch 10:16 cover display provides a practical interface for messaging, social media, calls and other everyday smartphone tasks. Open the device and it transforms into a 7.6-inch 4:3 foldable display, providing a broad canvas for videos, reading, gaming, multitasking and productivity.

Power comes from the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, complemented by 12GB RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. Samsung also equips the Fold8 with 50MP Wide and 50MP Ultra Wide rear cameras, two 10MP front cameras and its latest Galaxy AI experience.

All-New Wide Foldable Design

The Galaxy Z Fold8 represents a significant change in Samsung's book-style foldable design.

Its proportions are shorter and wider than traditional Galaxy Z Fold models. This makes the device more comfortable for content designed around conventional smartphone and tablet-like aspect ratios.

When unfolded, its 4:3 display is particularly well suited to:

• Movies and video
• E-books
• Magazines
• Web browsing
• Gaming
• Side-by-side applications
• Photo editing
• Documents
• Productivity

The wider format is the reason the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 is commonly referred to as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide.

Specifications & Features

7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Main Display

Open the Galaxy Z Fold8 and you get a large 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display.

Samsung has changed the proportions significantly compared with its traditional Fold design. The new main screen uses an approximately 4:3 aspect ratio, producing a much wider viewing area when the phone is held in landscape orientation.

This makes it particularly suitable for entertainment, e-books, gaming and applications that benefit from a larger canvas.

Wide 4:3 Foldable Display

The 4:3 aspect ratio is one of the defining characteristics of the Galaxy Z Fold8.

Instead of simply providing a larger version of a tall smartphone screen, the Fold8 gives users a broad tablet-like workspace.

This additional width is particularly useful when running supported applications side by side.

5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X Cover Display

Fold the device closed and the 5.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen becomes the primary display.

Its 10:16 aspect ratio is optimized for everyday smartphone content, including:

• Social media
• Messaging
• Web browsing
• Calls
• Navigation
• Photography
• Notifications

This allows many everyday tasks to be completed without opening the phone.

Up to 120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate

The Galaxy Z Fold8's displays support smooth high-refresh-rate operation.

Refresh rates of up to 120Hz provide fluid scrolling, responsive animations and smoother supported gaming.

Adaptive refresh technology can adjust the screen refresh rate according to displayed content to balance smoothness with power consumption.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.

The chipset is customized for Samsung's flagship Galaxy platform and delivers the CPU, GPU and NPU performance required for:

• Galaxy AI
• Advanced multitasking
• High-end gaming
• Photography
• Video processing
• Productivity
• Large-screen applications

12GB RAM

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is available with 12GB RAM, providing substantial memory for demanding applications and large-screen multitasking.

Users can move between applications and run multiple supported apps simultaneously using Samsung's Fold-optimized interface.

Up to 1TB Internal Storage

Samsung provides three main storage configurations:

• 256GB
• 512GB
• 1TB

The 1TB model provides substantial space for high-resolution photos, 8K videos, games, applications and offline media.

No microSD Card Slot

The Galaxy Z Fold8 does not include expandable microSD storage.

Users should therefore choose an internal storage capacity that accommodates their long-term requirements.

Dual 50MP Rear Camera System

Samsung equips the Galaxy Z Fold8 with two high-resolution rear cameras:

• 50MP Wide Camera
• 50MP Ultra Wide Camera

Rather than adding a lower-resolution Ultra Wide sensor, Samsung provides 50MP resolution across both primary rear focal lengths.

50MP Wide Camera

The main Wide camera uses a 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture.

It is designed for detailed everyday photography while Samsung's ProVisual Engine handles computational image processing.

The Wide camera also provides 2x optical-quality zoom using its high-resolution sensor.

50MP Ultra Wide Camera

The Ultra Wide camera also uses a 50MP sensor, paired with an f/1.9 aperture.

Its wider field of view is particularly useful for:

• Landscapes
• Architecture
• Group photos
• Travel photography
• Large indoor scenes

Up to 10x Digital Zoom

The Galaxy Z Fold8 provides digital zoom up to 10x.

Unlike the Fold8 Ultra, the standard wide-format Fold8 does not rely on a dedicated telephoto camera.

10MP Cover Camera

The cover display includes a 10MP front-facing camera.

It provides a convenient option for selfies and video calls while the Fold8 is closed.

10MP Main Screen Camera

The internal foldable display also incorporates a 10MP camera.

Its wide field of view is particularly useful for video calls and group selfies while using the larger display.

Up to 8K Video Recording

The Galaxy Z Fold8 can record high-resolution video at up to 8K using supported camera modes.

Samsung's ProVisual Engine assists with video processing, including detail and noise reduction.

Dual Recording

The Fold8 supports Dual Recording, allowing supported front and rear cameras to record simultaneously.

This is particularly useful for:

• Interviews
• Vlogs
• Reaction videos
• Live content
• Travel recording

Both perspectives can be captured within a single recording workflow.

ProVisual Engine

Samsung's ProVisual Engine applies advanced computational processing to photographs and videos.

The system analyzes image information and works with the Snapdragon platform to improve supported characteristics such as:

• Detail
• Noise reduction
• Colour
• Low-light performance
• Video quality

Nightography

Nightography uses Samsung's image-processing technologies to improve photography and video in low-light environments.

The 50MP Wide camera works with ProVisual Engine to preserve detail while reducing unwanted visual noise.

Galaxy AI

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 integrates Galaxy AI throughout its software experience.

AI functionality is especially useful on a Fold because the larger display provides more space for viewing original content and AI-assisted information simultaneously.

Gemini Integration

Google Gemini is integrated into Samsung's Galaxy AI experience, providing access to supported AI assistance directly from the phone.

AI functionality may depend on language, region, account requirements, software version and internet connectivity.

Large-Screen Multitasking

The 7.6-inch display makes the Fold8 particularly effective for multitasking.

Supported applications can be displayed side by side, allowing workflows such as:

• Browser + Notes
• Email + Calendar
• Video + Messaging
• Documents + Research
• Gallery + Editing tools
• Video call + Reference material

Galaxy Fold Taskbar

Samsung's Fold interface provides taskbar-style navigation for quickly opening and switching between supported applications.

This helps make the unfolded interface behave more like a compact productivity device than an oversized conventional smartphone.

4800mAh Battery

The Galaxy Z Fold8 contains a 4800mAh typical-capacity battery.

Samsung rates the phone for up to approximately 26 hours of video playback under its specified testing conditions.

Actual endurance varies with network conditions, screen brightness, applications, connectivity and usage.

FREE Samsung 25W Adapter

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide 5G package from Linkphones Center comes with a FREE SAMSUNG 25W ADAPTER, giving you a compatible Samsung charging adapter without needing to purchase one separately.

Wireless Charging

The Galaxy Z Fold8 supports wireless charging with compatible Qi charging equipment.

This provides an alternative to charging through the USB-C port.

Wireless PowerShare

Wireless PowerShare allows the Fold8 to wirelessly provide power to compatible accessories.

It can be useful for topping up supported devices such as Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches.

5G Connectivity

The Galaxy Z Fold8 supports 5G mobile networks, providing high-speed mobile connectivity on compatible carriers.

It also retains support for previous-generation mobile networks where applicable.

Dual SIM with eSIM

Samsung supports Dual SIM functionality using Nano-SIM and eSIM.

Exact SIM configurations can vary according to market and carrier.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

The flagship wireless platform provides high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity for compatible home, office and public networks.

Ultra-Wideband

UWB technology is supported for compatible proximity and location-based functionality.

This can work with supported Galaxy ecosystem devices and services.

NFC

NFC provides support for compatible contactless services, device pairing and mobile payments where available.

USB-C with DisplayPort

The Galaxy Z Fold8 uses USB Type-C for wired charging and data transfer.

Supported DisplayPort functionality also enables compatible wired external-display applications.

IP48 Water Resistance

The Galaxy Z Fold8 carries an IP48 rating.

This provides specified protection against water and larger solid particles under controlled test conditions.

As with other water-resistant smartphones, protection can diminish through normal wear and physical damage.

Samsung Knox

Samsung Knox provides multiple layers of hardware and software security.

It helps protect personal and business information throughout the device.

Knox Vault

Samsung Knox Vault provides hardware-backed protection for particularly sensitive information such as supported authentication credentials.

Fingerprint Sensor

Biometric authentication includes a fingerprint sensor for convenient phone unlocking and supported security functions.

World's Lightest Galaxy Fold

At approximately 201g, Samsung describes the Galaxy Z Fold8 as its lightest Fold to date.

Reducing weight is particularly important for a foldable because users carry two displays and a complex hinge mechanism within a single device.

Slim Foldable Construction

When unfolded, the Fold8 measures approximately 4.5mm thick at its thinnest body measurement.

The combination of lower weight and slimmer construction helps make the new wider form factor easier to handle.

Android 17 & Samsung One UI 9

The Galaxy Z Fold8 ships with Android 17 and Samsung One UI 9.

One UI includes optimizations specifically designed for:

• Foldable displays
• Multi-window applications
• Galaxy AI
• FlexMode
• Taskbar navigation
• Large-screen productivity

Seven Years of Software Support

Samsung provides its flagship Fold platform with long-term operating-system and security support.
