The DJI RS 4 Combo is a professional 3‑axis stabilizer tailored for solo creators, indie filmmakers, and content producers who need reliable, high-performance gimbal stabilization and flexible control options. It combines the core RS 4 gimbal with essential accessories in a bundle that enhances runtime, control and usability.
At the heart of the setup is the RS 4 gimbal itself, boasting a payload capacity of around 3 kg, making it capable of handling medium to high‑end mirrorless cameras with large lenses. The gimbal is powered by DJI’s 4th‑generation RS stabilization algorithm, which ensures smooth, stable footage even during fast movements or transitions. With a newly extended tilt axis, you get more room for balancing larger setups or adding accessories.
To improve handling and powering options, the Combo includes a battery grip that doubles as an extended hand‑grip and tripod. This grip holds a 3,000 mAh battery and supports 18W PD charging enabling fast top-ups and keeping the gimbal going throughout long shoots. The grip also has a NATO rail mounting system for additional gear.
For control, the bundle comes with the DJI Focus Pro Motor, which attaches to the RS 4 via its RSA/NATO interface. The motor allows you to control focus using a dial and zoom via a joystick, giving you precise and intuitive lens control during shoots. Additionally, the gimbal supports Dual‑Mode Bluetooth, enabling wireless shutter and zoom control and you can switch between gimbal control and zoom control on the same joystick.
A fixed OLED touchscreen on the gimbal grip offers on-the-go adjustments. Thanks to its auto-lock feature, it prevents accidental input changes by dimming the screen and locking the controls when idle, while still showing your current mode or joystick setting.
Shooting in portrait/vertical is made seamless with 2nd-generation native vertical mode, the quick-release horizontal plate lets you switch to vertical orientation without extra accessories. This is perfect for creators working on TikToks, Reels or any vertical-content format.
The arms of the RS 4 gimbal are coated in Teflon, reducing friction and making balancing faster and smoother. The trigger button is customizable: by default it can switch you into FPV mode (so the axes follow your motions), but you can map it to other functions if you prefer.
On the connectivity side, the Combo offers 3× USB-C ports: for power, camera control and video transmission. There’s also a dedicated RSA port to connect other Ronin‑series accessories like focus wheels or follow‑focus systems. And since the gimbal is app‑compatible, you can connect via the Ronin app to fine-tune settings, set custom profiles or use features like panorama, motion time-lapse and subject tracking.
